TROUBLESHOOTING

Checklist Flow Chart

  • BrightSign Player Troubleshooting Checklist
  1. Power

    • Is the extension cord power switch ON?

    • Are both the monitor and BrightSign player connected securely?

  2. Samsung Monitor

    • Does the monitor power on (power light or splash screen)?

    • If not, check monitor power cable and try a different outlet.

  3. BrightSign Player

    • Does the BrightSign player show a power indicator or activity?

    • If not, test power source or try a different BrightSign unit.

  4. Signal to Monitor

    • Is the monitor showing any signal from the BrightSign?

    • If “No Signal”, go to HDMI troubleshooting.

  5. HDMI Connection

    • Is the HDMI cable connected securely at both ends?

    • Is the HDMI cable undamaged? (Try replacing it.)

  6. Monitor Input

    • Is the correct HDMI input selected on the Samsung monitor?

  7. SD Card Content

     Is the image frozen on the screen or does it play and get cut off before the end of the footage?

    If so, remove the card and spray canned air into the Brightsign SD card slot

  8. Error LEDs

    • Are there any flashing error LEDs on the BrightSign?

    •  If so, please document the error lights.

  9. Still Not Working?

    • Contact BRIAN BRESS STUDIO via the troubleshooting request page to request a new SD card.
